The Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary (MGBS), owned and operated by the Indiana Audubon Society (IAS), will be the location for the Fall 2016 Inland Bird Banding Association meeting from November 11-13, 2016.

The MGBS, near Connersville, Indiana provides over 700 acres of various habitats for birds and wildlife. We maintain over 10 miles of walking trails for visitors. The Sanctuary has 4 ponds, a pine and wooded forest, and an established prairie. Attendees who enjoy camping are welcome to use our primitive campground during the weekend. Hotel accommodations will also be available.

We are excited to host this gathering in celebration of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) Centennial. One of Indiana’s goals for the year is to promote key actions to help birds. The work of IBBA members aligns with this goal and we are enthusiastic to welcome attendees to Indiana.

Planned activities include paper sessions, banding opportunities, and guest speaker presentations. We are currently planning hands on workshops at this event! In addition, we will try to band a few Northern Saw-whet Owls during the weekend.
