To support the conservation and study of birds through bird banding

IBBA Membership

As a member of the Inland Bird Banding Association, you will share in the findings of banders.  If you are not a bander, you will learn how and why birds are banded, and will discover the secrets we are learning from banded birds.  Bird banding has resulted in many important discoveries about bird behavior, migration, and ecology that could have been found in no other way. For those who band and study birds there is no better way to keep informed of the latest techniques and research than to belong to an active banding organization such as the Inland Bird Banding Association.  Only by sharing knowledge can many of the objectives of the banding program be realized, for one bander alone cannot gather all the data needed in many studies. All members receive and are entitled to participate in all activities and attend the annual conference.
